Oh the hate! She cries because of it and so do I

Yes, I am guilty too. Anytime someone said something I didn't like about my candidate or my beliefs, a boiling effect would arise in my gut and it wasn't a Colin problem. As time went on, I searched my heart and it happened because of an intense disagreement with my twin brother. It saddened me we would let politics come between our brotherly love and a friendship we hold dearly. I began thinking, what about those friendships outside the family? I love my friends, even the cyber ones and refuse to walk away from them over political disagreements. Crap! Don't hate! In four years join with like-minded souls and change it if you can. That's what the vote is for, but love thy neighbor as thy self. (Well, most neighbors. LOL) Really, joking aside, please love the people around you, your family and your friends. Stop the hate over politics, religion, the color of hair, or whatever! Just, please, Stop! Let's just agree to disagree if that's the case and move on. I love you, dear friends. I do!

I am in a similar situation with my sister and her family. The toxicity of our politics has spread to our family. Truly sad and a thing to be overcome.

@JimboSaturn Somebody needs to break the barrier and say I'm sorry I let politics or whatever come between us, I love you, can you forgive me? My twin and I are back on again because I said it. It didn't change our views but it did our hearts.

@Coletracer So you just avoid talking politics and try to focus on my normal things?

@JimboSaturn If it's a sore spot that causes a rift, then, by all means, avoid the topic. If each can pickingly joke about things without anger arising, then have fun. If feelings get hurt, it's gone too far. Stop, hug, let it go!
