Depends on whether she is jealous or not, especially if they have been friends a long time before a new girl or wife came along.
It could work both ways. There have female besties of either partner who couldn't wait to jump into the wife's shoes given the chance. I remember one who jumped straight in just three weeks after his wife died, everyone could see through her except him.
