I'm trying to get my friend's brother Approval

My friend's brother loves to play games. Only problem is he doesn't seem to be interested in games i play which is fine. I tried getting his attention a few times in a non direct way because i get nervous confronting people directly. He seems to be down all the time as well. What should i do.
