There is this guy that I know and we have been friends like since we were babies. And sometimes I wonder if we could ever be more than just friends

but I am scared I will make a fool of myself. What would be a good way to kind of hint so that maybe if might think the same I can find out but I won't feel like an idiot if he doesn't?

Or should I just never try?
