If you can’t accomplish what you want what your first choice was then is it better to give up or go for your second choice?

For example, if you really wanted a relationship with this first person but then they got taken by someone else, then you found someone else you kinda like but aren’t as passionate about them as the first person and probably won’t ever be with anyone else should you learn to live with the fact that the second person is what you might get or just give up all together?

On the one hand it’s better to be alone than to be with the wrong person, and there’s no rule written anywhere that says you have to date or get married. On the other hand there are about 8 billion people in this world, so for each mature, well-adjusted adult there should be plenty of people one could potentially be happy with as a lifelong companion if you want to find one. It’s ridiculously ignorant to think there’s just one other person you were meant to be with or could ever be happy with.

You're too young to give up. My advice is to stay true to yourself and hang in there. It'll happen again.
