Is bf exaggerating?!

My mom had a migraine and my bf wouldn’t stop talking so I asked him if he wanted to go for a ride with me so we can chat and listen to music. And he said I’m gonna go home you guys don’t want me here I’m not gonna bother coming over next time.

I found his remark a little exaggerated. Was what I did or said really that bad?

He ended up going for the ride and then enjoyed it and wanted to go longer but was complaining first.

He should be able to read the room and just said that sounds like a great idea to take a drive.

@SW-User should he have been offended that my mom didn’t want anyone being loud in the house? Should I have done that and asked if he wanted to go out with me instead? Why would he act like that? Does he have some sort of disorder?

@Fifidog some people try to defuse a bad situation with dry humor. He might have been trying to do that with your mom's migraine. Whenever I did or said something wrong, I usually got my ex's wife glare. Maybe try something like that.
