Wtf why won’t my heart move on?

I’m dating this new guy since me and my ex broke up but I don’t know how I feel about this new guy. We’ve been going on dates like once a week or every other week for 2 months and I though I would know by now wether or not I liked him or not. I don’t wanna string him along but I think I like him but I’m not sure. I don’t know if it’s because I still love my ex. I can’t see myself having a future with my ex though but I do still love him and think about him all the time. I broke up with him 4 months ago. I’m so confused with what to do and what’s going on with my love life. What do I do?

4 months is still a short time. You can love your ex but still date another. Over time you will find the new guy is fun, fascinating, and your heart will find its attachment. Give it time, though. Don't be in a rush, enjoy those moments. It will get better

@SW-User that’s true it is still early and we we’re together for many years. The new guy is more in a rush than I am as I wanna just spend time together for now getting to know one another and in the future talk about something serious but he keeps asking me what are we when are you gonna be my girlfriend. How can I respond to him as I’ve told him I wanna take things slow.

@Fifidog You might have to push him back a little bit. If he slips, gently remind him you need space and time and that he needs to be patient. The cycle of friendship needs to happen first. If he can't accept that, then he does not respect you or your boundaries. Younger men seem to be all about the rush, until their brains kick into gear. Once he learns that, then your journey together will be successful.

@SW-User how do I push him back a little without seeming like I’m not interested in him?

@Fifidog If he talks about a serious relationship again, change the subject. Make it a distraction for him to talk about other things. Reassure him you do care about him but want to take it slow. He needs to respect your boundaries

@SW-User great idea! Thank you so so much.
