Whenever I listen to this song, I would imagine him dedicating it to her.

No matter how I tried to compromise and make us work, he found ways to make it difficult.

He was so afraid that I’ll leave him for someone better, but I never did. When I think about it now, it feels like he’s indirectly telling me that I should let him go.

Perhaps, he thinks about you when he listens to this song, and she can feel it. Nonetheless, if he had a fear that you would leave him for someone better, it's because that's how he is. He doesn't sound like a very nice guy, but we reap what we sow, and he'll reap thorns, because that's what was sown. Consider yourself fortunate to be rid of this bad apple.

@Menetics He sounds like he could be a womanizer, and that's not good. I believe you when you say he's not a bad person. You are a pretty girl, and thank God he's not the only guy out there.
