Is it bad to enhance your relationship through hallucinogens?

I've never used recreational drugs with the exception of a couple of experiences with cannabis, and wine from time to time -- rarely getting drunk. So I do not think these substances are necessary.
But it sounds like you became very addicted, so I admire you greatly for being sober this long and I hope you can continue. So I hope you find ways of feeling joy in life in other ways!!

That’s just an excuse of a dull or relapsing mind. Pick up a hobby man….read a book…keep your mind occupied in creating things. ✌️
