Does a guy just forget about you?

If you talked to each other every day for 8 months even when they ended things with you, would they just forget about you or would you still be on their mind?

I used to speak to someone a while back... I thought we were really good long distance friends as we were chatting everyday for about three years then suddenly they just stopped... Vanished.. I still wonder why
