Do you think shes lying

My roommate and his girlfriend are fighting and my rommates colleague saw one of his classmate who was with the girlfriend and we found out the guy was her ex, so my roommate keeps insisting they had sex and his girlfriend is crying and denying they did it.
If its not true that they did it then why is she crying? Guilty???
