So.....We Did A Thing.....
Phew!
Last night was mine and Matt's 'Engagement' party and, being that this is[i] it[/i] for us in terms of relationship goals - ie, we don't want to get married - we pulled out the stops.
So....party with 120+ of our fav people - family, friends and work colleagues - a big room, a buffet, a lovely DJ and a big ass cake.
Props to Roxy and Brit (my girls!) for putting it all together...and was cool to see Sarah and her Adrian (at last! I had heard a lot about him...he's [i]cute[/i], girl!) amongst others.
Matt's usually quite calm....he was planning a big speech and was as nervous as hell....so one had to taker matters in her own hands - well, mouth anyways - to calm down the situation! He did a lovely, sweet speech and, well, it made me love him even more...
Then...first dance!
We had practiced all month for this; Youtube and 'Strictly...' were our guides - and we did a very elegant (I hope!) Ballroom dance to Kelsea Ballerini's 'I Hate Love Songs' (such a lovely song - see the vid included in this ramblings...) which surprised the heck out of everyone. I had a lovely dress on and Matt was all suited and booted.

I was a fantastic night but so stressful! Both our parents loved it, which was a surprise (especially with Matt's!) and was full of my fav music, laughter, cake and smiles all around...
We got home very late, still rather sober but exhausted...and fell asleep in our clothes on top of the bed.
