So I learn that opening a door for a lady is sexist.

But to show that I am not sexist, I think I shouldn't be slamming the door on their faces too.

Opening a door for someone isn't sexist, it's just polite.

I also think it is polite and good manners to hold it open for whoever is coming after you 🙂

@Carmen74 Especially if they are carrying something, or have kids in tow.

I was scolded by a hag one day for holding the door open to the next person behind me. The hag told me it was sexist to hold the door for a woman. I calmly told the hag that I didn't know it was a woman. Then the hag got really angry. I laughed for hours.

@hippyjoe1955 I am going to remember that line. 😅

Holding the door open for someone, especially someone who is carrying things, is just being polite. I do it all the time for people of all ages.

Most women (ladies) do not consider a courtesy like someone opening a door for them to be "sexist". Many women open doors for others without even considering what their sex is, because a simple courtesy like that is just a natural inclination.

I do for it men also.

I'll hold the door for anyone. All though, I get worried when it is a younger lady. I just tell myself to look at the floor. Which ticks me off in so many ways.

Open the door for a man as well, then you can't be accused of discrimination.

Oh yeah my brother in law was told he was a sexist pig for opening the door for a customer at his job. Some people are wild
