I Believe A Relationship Is Built On Respect And Trust

Which my relationship is totally lacking. And I realised the main problem here. The reason to him lacking respect towards me is the fact that since we met I was extremely self-conscious, had very little confidence and was super shy... So I am in his eyes worth as much as that shy girl and not a woman I am growing up to be. I feel like I am worth a lot more now, more than he treats me like...
But the question is, what do I do with the relationship?..

Have you been open with him about it? I'm very self conscience too. My wife understands it. Most times the relationship is still very frustrating but that's another story. But at least she knows.my feelings

I have told him a million times. He simply doesn`t understand it, like I`m speaking in a different language. It feels like he doesn`t want to give me more respect or treat me nicer.
