I Love the Library

Take a look for Swallows & Amazons by Arthur Ransome next time you're in the library. Set in the English Lake District and first published in 1930 it tells the tail of two rival gangs of school kids joining forces to combat the bad guys.

This short video shows the real life Wild Cat Island on which their adventures took place.

And they had their 'Famous Five' adventure stories by Enid Blyton!

They certainly did. :-) 👍️ @EugenieLaBorgia
@ThePerfectUsername I still have some of England's old comics - somewhere - The Beano, The Dandy, The Hotspur and The Victor.

Oh wow. You really are a class act! 😁 @EugenieLaBorgia
@ThePerfectUsername There's one..I don't remember the exact name... it's larger than the others called The Tipper or Tupper or Tapper or Topper! It's one of those!

Topper. I remember it well. :-) @EugenieLaBorgia
@ThePerfectUsername I was nearly right!

Well you last guess was correct and it was the one with the exclamation mark so I'm counting it! 😁 @EugenieLaBorgia

@EugenieLaBorgia I just found this post.
Arthur Ransome was a thousand times better than Enid Blyton.

I agree. I still can't read S&A to this day without the feeling the same thrill I felt when I was a ten year old. :-) @SW-User
