If the people you love are easily swayed and won over by a crowd, even if it means they leave you isolated and alone, does that really suck?

I mean, I've always been fond of the saying, "If you love it, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours. If not, it's never yours."

Well, if we're being real, it would probably suck. But isn't it better to be alone with a chance of happiness rather than be in a crowd that makes you feel lonely even with their company?

I've always been fond of family. I like a good crowd, truth be told. People who are close, who grew up together and love each other constantly. But these days, people would tolerate rude ones who have money and let go of people who care for them who can't give as much. It is easy and hard to understand both at once.

People who know me always say I am likable. But the ones I choose to love aren't. Not because they are bad, but because they are true to themselves, honest to a fault and people...you know most people hate it when you're 100% you. Funny that.

So because they prefer isolation, I tend to do the same now even if somehow, I miss crowded events too. But I tell myself I don't regret it. It's like taking a stand and knowing who you love more. I am accountable for that too. First and foremost, to myself.

But you know...I wish sometimes that things are different too. Better different. And people who would stick with you would just show up with a tag, hands flailing in greeting and bringing you milk tea.

Can you imagine? Appearing in someone's life with a billboard in neon font for the words, "Hey, nice to meet you. My name is ___ and I am someone who would be on your side, stick by you, and love you forever."

That would probably be the sweetest thing ever
