Somebody on my FB used an expression that I just love:
“Maladroit fraud-goblin.”

That seems fair enough. Maladroit would aptly describe someone trying to lie and nonetheless unintentionally speaking truly!
Goblin is a kind of faery according to Bing. So, I remain a bit unsure of what an f-g is but I suppose it could be someone who flits around attempting to perpetrate frauds or untruths. So, I get it now. Thank you!
