The Turn of the Screw shall be next, under 5 hours at normal speed, and for that and others there's Educational editions which have a study guide after the unabridged work. 99.99% I will never even begin anything that's abridged, but there have been two exceptions so far in my bookish travels.
Monkey, the abridgment of the Great Chinese Classic Journey to the West, and the Naxos recording of Thus Spoke Zarathustra, and of course any theatre production that was directed by the guy or gal who wrote it, it's like seeing the theatrical version of Fanny and Alexander instead of the 6 part tv miniseries,or the non-extended editions of LotR.
I must mention this, Naxos titles on the Naxos site, the ones that actually say Naxos on the covers are relatively few, there's more than them of other releases, what I'm after is only about 20% of what they offer, and only about 5% of them don't have the Naxos label on them, what i'm about to say is included, from Blackstone audio, the 2 volumes of The Tale of Genji!! The Japanese novel that is regarded as the first novel, however you could say the same about some works in Antiquity, but Genji is HUGE!! And a very informative Introduction.
