A snapshot of my Audible Mix @ 8:50pm, May 22, 2025
It always takes some time to arrive at a definitive mix, for Audible I have to have it so that they all fit in one list in the listening history. There's room for a couple more I like to keep those open for when I see something that I simply must begin listening to.
1. The Complete Stoicism Collection -- I like the narrator in this, it's a pump you up kind of audiobook, modern translation, probably a group effort. Just the main 3 Roman Stoics. There's another AB for Epictetus from the Penguin release.
2. Nietzsche -- Human, All Too Human // The Dawn of Day // The Gay Science // The FN Collection // The Antichrist, Ecce Homo
3. Cioran's A Short History of Decay -- I will just go through one Cioran at a time unlike Nietzsche which I will go through them all at a time.
4. Plutarch's Lives and Moralia
5. Gibbon's Decline and Fall
6. Herodotus' Histories
7. Frankenstein -- soon to be finished along with a Very Short Introduction to Mary Shelley!!
8. Clarissa
9. The Second Sex
10. Cheri and the End of Cheri by Colette
11. Schopenhauer -- On the Fourfold Root of Sufficient Reason
12. Summa Theologica
13. City of God
14. Institutes of the Christian Religion
15. The Ego and Its Own
16. The Complete Essays of Montaigne
17. The Book of Disquiet
18. History of the Russian Revolution
19. Swann's Way
20. Diplomacy by Henry Kissinger
21. Camus' The Rebel
22. Wuthering Heights
23. The Horror Stories of Robert E Howard -- with Robertson Dean one of my favorite voices, he does The Power Broker.
24. The Civil War -- I have to listen to this at the normal speed as it sounds distorted when sped up.
25. The Forsytes
26. The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas
27. Dick Barton: Special Agent
28. Dungeon Crawler Carl
29. The Expanse
30. Bobiverse ..... soon The Wheel of Time
31. Les Miserables
32. Clark Ashton Smith
33. The Greek World --- one of The Great Courses at a time
34. Anti-Oedipus
35. Jesus and John Wayne -- I didn't finish this as I said the other day, but there's not a lot left!
36. ESV Audio Bible read by Michael Reeves -- I like this guy's voice.
37. The Night Stalker by Philip Carlo --- one true crime at a time
38. Gargantua and Pantagruel by Rabelais
39. Mircea Cărtărescu's Solenoid -- this is like the Book of Disquiet.
