Clarissa -- it's in 3 audiobooks that are roughly 35 hrs each, an amazing epistolary novel, a huge improvement to the author's previous work which is seen by many as the first English novel. In Clarissa we are privy to a lady being told who she is to marry, a man she abhors, and with a libertine fellow who fancies her, which her family despises. In a familial drama sort of way this is as frightening as any horror story, for we are plunged into another time when all the problems inherent in those times are experienced at length.
The performances by the cast of narrators is great also, such drama in their voices, they bring the work to life.
