Alas, it may be too late for such hopes. E-books are becoming ever more popular and will soon dominate the market. Already I am seeing more and more titles being released as e-books only. Even a friend of mine who writes and has published a number of books only releases her short stories in e-format. (I've asked her if she'll release a real book containing all her short stories and she did say yes, when she has enough of them.)
The future of real books, made with real paper, is dim. As e-books, with their vastly lower prices, take over the market, physical books will become luxuries, their prices rising accordingly. Eventually they will price themselves right out of the market and they will be nothing but a memory. I'll miss them. I'm just hoping it takes a few decades to hammer in the last nails so that I can die with a real book in my hands.

Amen!!! I love books – real ones, not "e-books." In fact, I just wrote a blog post partially on that subject... Books. Are. Awesome. 😊
I too love libraries and wherever I went across the globe, I always felt at home inside the library! 😊
