It depends on your preferences both “ the house of my mother by Sheri franke” and Jeanette mccurdys “I’m glad my mom died” are both good books but so hard to listen to due to the nature of them

@tobynshorty of course! Let me know how you like it ☺ it’s a really hard listen but worth it to raise awareness

@MommaBear I was kind of curious about Jeanette's book, you suggested. iCarly had the reruns on regularly every day, along with the new episode once a week. As she got older, she'd always watch it when doing other things in the living room or just chilling.
Anywho, her favorite was always Sam on the show, cause she had that spunky and moxie-like attitude she carried herself with. Fast forward years later, I didn't really follow her when she decided to quit acting, and up to the point she released this book. So, I was just wondering, would it be a good book for both her (she'll be 18 in November?) and me to read together? As like a buddy reading thing!? Or duo book club thang? Thanks 😊

Oops, almost forgot.😕

I'm sorry @tobynshorty for hijacking your post. 🤗 But I was distracted by MommaBear's suggestion.
I originally came on to suggest to you George R.R. Martin's- A Song of Ice and Fire Series, in its entirety. A Game of Thrones was released in 1996 and GRRM has kept me enthralled ever since. And see that someone else recommended it as well. My only warning if you've totally missed the bandwagon and know nothing about it.
It explores a lot of the complexities of what the human condition is and how it's dealt with in unimaginable ways. There's good in the world, but it's definitely hard to get and even harder to keep. 😳 If you start now, you'll probably finish reading all 5 books out now, before Winds of Winter shows itself.
Because I am (SO IS EVERYONE ELSE) still waiting for it to be finished, which he began in the early 2010s. (You're not getting any younger, George!)
More recently, I just finished reading "I Am Legend," which was actually written in 1954. Well before the movie was released. It was an enjoyable, quick read. Next, I have "Something Wicked This Way Comes", from Ray Bradbury. As a kid, the movie freaked me out. Yippie, I'm hoping it's good, and just as creepy.

@Levenrack the book goes into details about the abuse she had endured by her mother and by the acting industry it’s a very hard listen/read but worth it
