I Absolutely Love Bookstores

Especially the privately owned ones. They have such a warm, personal feeling to them. It just feels nice. And I love books too, so that's a plus.

I go on vacation to Bridgton, Maine every year, and right in the center of town is Bridgton Books. It's a tiny old building owned by a lovely middle aged couple, and not only can you find good fiction in there, but there's a ton of nonfiction, a good game selection, little trinkets at the counter... Just an amazing amount of stuff to pack into a tiny old building. And they can't fit all of it on the shelves, so you're looking through stacks next to the end caps, and the floor creeks as you walk on it, and it's just so quaint and charming and homely. AND it's a favorite destination of Stephen King since he lives in the area. (No, I still haven't seen him yet. 😞)
