A couple of years ago I read a book that I pretty much lived in for 3 months:
Three Roads to the Alamo by William Davis
It's a triple biography of the three famous heroes of the Alamo, Lt.Col.William Travis, Jim Bowie and David Crockett.

@DrWatson: It was like spending three months in the Jacksonian era. I felt like I had become close friends with each of these three men.

@greenmountaingal: AS I read your username and think about your tastes in heroes, I have to ask: have you been friends with Ethan Allen too? :)

@DrWatson: I want to marry Ethan Allen...but we're separated by 228 years of American history. Frustrating.

I have a new book I'm itching to start reading but cannot give it the proper time and attention to really enjoy it...I may have to take a day off and hit the hammock. :)
