When I was in elementary school I went through a phase where I read nothing but Goosebumps and stuff like that. The books that still stand out after all those years to me were Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, not because of the stories but because of the pictures that still creep me out, and a few of the Lewis Barnavelt and Johnny Dixon books by John Bellairs that gave me nightmares at the time.
