Does anyone here still read books?

I received several books for Christmas and I can’t wait to get started. I love the feel of a book in my hands, the act of turning the pages.
And if it’s an older book, the smell of the pages, and thinking about who might’ve read the book before me.
I enjoy all subject matter and categories: history, biographies, financial and life advice, non-fiction and science fiction.
My least favourite book? Facebook 😂

Yep and when I frequented thrift shops the book section was where I spent the majority of time. There’s not only something about connecting with the book itself, but also silently connecting with the one who held it and lived in its words before you.

I didn’t purchase this one, but it touched me nonetheless because of the journey I felt tied to it.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart Amazing! Thank you for sharing. Another excellent place to find old books for bargain prices is the library. Sometimes they sell their older books to make room for newer ones, and I’ve bought some excellent finds for $.10 and $.25. Such as a first edition Ian Fleming James Bond novel, which I gave to a friend because he’s a fan.
Terrific pics btw, looks like you have some gems there.
