I Love Books

This is one of the most fascinating books I have read in a while. A portrait of vegetal and animal life in an English meadow all throughout the year. Flowers, trees , birds, mammals, insects...everything is here, including descriptions of how they prey or their mating habits.

Lewis-Stempel's prose is very rich. Not being English my mother tongue, I need to check the dictionary very often...not unfrequently to meet names of flowers or birds I am not familiar with in my language either.

I have read one third of the book so far, and I know I will hate the moment I finish it. I wonder about similar books with descriptions of everyday life in nature.

A book for you maybe, @CrazyMusicLover?

@Mugin16 It sounds interesting. I'd give it a try.
My uncle had a book called The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate. When I heard what it was about I thought it must be fascinating reading.
