The other day while watching Oz, there was made mention of Booker T Washington's Up From Slavery, the McManus character gives oh what's his name the guy who's also in The Wire a book to read (J D Williams), and that's it, ahhh it inspired me to go get a free kindle of it before the episode was over, concentration be damned to heck!! And it's interesting to get a little snippet of what life was like before the Civil War ended, dirt floors, after midnight stolen chicken dinners etcetera ...:)
