What book have you most often gifted or recommended?

Cierzo · M
1984
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Cierzo: I bought that book. But I haven't even read the first chapter
Cierzo · M
@SimplyTracie: Better read when in a good mood. It is very depressing, but vital to understand today's world
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Cierzo: I started reading it maybe three times. I might start again. If only I can get through the first chapter I'll be fine
SmartKat · 56-60, F
Not a book, but one year I bought a copy of the movie "Office Space" for everybody in my family for Xmas.
GlassDog · 46-50, M
@SmartKat: I love that film. I watched it, thinking it was fluff, and then found myself thinking about it more and more. Same with Idiocracy.
Not much of a history there, but it would have to be "The Little Prince".
Dictionary.. I've given it as a gift quite a few times..
GlassDog · 46-50, M
I've probably recommended One Hundred Years of Solitude more than any other, but I don't think it's a recommendation often taken up.
Tres13 · 51-55, M
the art of war ~ sun tzu
@Tres13: Should be required reading in schools.
Anything by Toni Morrison
SW-User
House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski. I love that book.
I always, always tell them to grab a physical copy though. It's not the same experience if you read it any other way.
Lynux · 100+, F
Robopocalypse by Daniel H. Wilson.
Story of a robot apocalypse told from multiple perspectives from a little before the start until the very end.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
I recommend Danielle Steel novels
