Middle-class Scottish lad, Prentice. Is having a tough time of it. Failing his college course, constant arguments with his dad over their opposite political views, missing his brother who's star is on the rise in the world of stand-up comedy, not to mention the fact that he hasn't been laid in living memory !
Some years earlier, his favourite uncle disappeared one night in somewhat mysterious circumstances. There was a row between him and another uncle. After which he took off and hasn't been seen since.
His grandmother. A feisty, somewhat crazy old lady, asks him to find out what happened to her son. So, armed with nothing more than the pieces of manuscript his uncle was working on before he disappeared, Prentice tries to find out what happened.
Helped by his only friend, Ash. A lady with a great job and a 'thing' for Prentice. He sets off to find out exactly what happened.
if you want a visual reference, the BBC did serialize it back in the 90's.
I'm reading, "Team of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwin. It's a history book about the presidency of Abraham Lincoln. For anyone interested in the topic, yes I would recommend it.
It's an epic thing, right? I didn't major in it but I took higher classes of it during high school and did a lot of personal research after high school. My boyfriend is amazing at history topics.

I love it! I wish I had more time to do so. I am currently reading a collection of stories by T.C. Boyle. The genre would be considered contemporary fiction. I much prefer Boyle's short stories to his novels.
Me! I'm rereading The First Wives Club by Oliva Goldsmith. I believe it is fiction, it could have been labeled as romance though. I quite enjoy it.
Hahaha, that's fine. I know what it's like to reread something so often that it completely falls apart lol. The difficulties of loving a good book, right?
War and Remembrance, by Herman Wouk. It's historical fiction. I just finished his The Winds of War. I don't see well, so I rely on audible. The narration is fantastic.
@MysticMermaid456: i didnt used to be much of a reader and im still not. I like reading about the lives of others. Their trials and victories. Interesting for some reason
