use to collect them.. loved the art and characters.. i got out as i lost interest several years ago. stories they were writing and changing of the art styles. comics suck now a days. i still love the silver age art and art from alex ross and neal adams the ninja turtles from the 80's had really good art.
@theowl: The Silver age goes back a ways before Alex Ross. Or even Laird and Eastman with the TMNT. Now, it may not be Jack Kirby and Joe Simon days. But it is earlier. Stan Lee- as a writer- encompasses both . As his first short was in 1941! But namely Silver age. And so is King Kibly in the Silver age. But far removed fro 1939's Captain America for Captain America comics.
Great Silver age (which ended 1970 or so) were Steve Ditko. John Romito. Sr. And Steve Buscema. Curt Swan and Gil Kane can be in that era as well.
The TMNT comics being done now- by Moonstone Press- are VERY heavy handed in political overtones. Even the recent writers and artists that 20 years ago were wonder- have gone stale. (Brian Michael Bendis for one) And the new talent coming up has nothing to say and no talent to say it with.

yeah i know when silver age is.. i know comics.. been in it from young age till several years ago.
@theowl: The first one I remember was Fantastic Four number 1. I got it in 1962. For a dine- a whole dime. THAT was a comic. I am at least 25 years older-so I go back a ways further.

did you keep any of those. its crazy how much those are worth now
@theowl: i have a few. But they are too beat up to be on any value,I may have a copt of FF #5. My Mother HATED I read Marvel and DC--she wanted me to read :safe stuff" like Archie comics. But Archie WAS of the 1960's and a lot read him- and the spinoffs. But that soon hot old.
What I have is not worth much, if any. It is nuts how those old comics have been driven up in price. Just like the Baseball cards of the 1950's and 60's.
