I'm quite the heretical hedonistic blasphemer these days, but the honest answer to that question would be the 'bible'. The bible has impacted my life more than any other book.

For me there were two books; "Clan of the Cave Bear", which turbed me into an instatiable reader, and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", which is how I met the lady who had woken up during surgery 5 times (I had woken up once, she was the first Awareness survivor I met), who would shock me out of feeling sorry for my self and doing something about it.

I can't say just a particular book. I have to say the library. When I was a kid, I had no one to talk to about things in life. I would go to the library and read books that gave me that information.
