What's one word that should be removed from everyone's vocabulary?

Removing the word "but" from sentences will make MOST them sound much more influential; even if that means restructuring the entire sentence because of the word removal.

John Tesh said that adding "but" to criticism of your spouse will soften it. I don't know though.
