Books Chris has difficulty with

but here is the pinnacle of bookish talk with Michael Silverblatt, the best reader of recent memory interviewing David Foster Wallace when Infinite Jest was first released. The jingle at the beginning is so sweet but haunting too.

DFW can be so refreshingly brilliant, but also very challenging, for me it's like its too much that doesn't matter, using language to zoom in microscopically on things that only those with a drug in them for example would care to take notice of. However he has deep views which I can value more and more only if I can get to them without the more difficult parts driving me over the edge into a reductive lala land mentality I had when 2 yrs old.
