@darkknightt You're welcome. I have a kindle and use amazon, but I also use a Samsung Tablet and use kobo and also use the ReadEra app, which can read most formats including epubs, pdfs, comics, and others.
@pride49 well their pirating process isn't ideal by any means (it's adding extra pages for example — see the below screenshot of the Amaro book by Brad Thomas Parsons I just downloaded as a test — so there's no telling how formatting is getting messed up on dense botanical reference books for example), but it's better than nothing I guess.
In hard-back form Amaro is 280 pages, you can see the PDF generated by this pirating platform is nearly 600 pages, holy fck!!!
So if the piracy conversion process screws up the formatting, what else does it screw up in the actual content?
Moreover, you know mainstream ad networks won't touch piracy sites like this one (and a piracy site still has bills to pay, even if they're not directly selling you anything), so the shady ad networks that will work with them open you up to malware vulnerabilities, and even if you use an adblocker on their site, you still have no idea what malicious payload might be embedded in the downloaded files themselves.
@darkknightt it's not an "opinion", sharing creative work's without the creator's authorization / without compensating the creator is literally the factual, objective, textbook defintion of piracy, there is no other way to spin it
Pirating file-sharing sites enable every visitor's computer to create a new copy of the originally stolen file, the creator has not authorized any of this, that's why they are not a "library" @pride49 🤦🏻♂
