The Theatre and Its Double -- Antonin Artaud
My favorite madman, this guy truly suffered, and Anais Nin writes about him a bit in her diaries. My favorite work of his is his piece on Van Gogh which was inspiring to Allen Ginsberg in his famous Howl poem, the literary howl in Artaud is savage stuff, when I get around to it i'll be screaming and hollering like a truly insane person for full effect, but here we have his most famous work, as the Father of the Theatre of Cruelty he spells out the way he sees things.
