20 books I hope to record on SW
1. The Recognitions
2. JR -- these 2 are the biggest of the legendary William Gaddis, I have all his stuff, even his letters and secondary stuff, but if I just get through these 2 I will be super pleased with myself, and someone long after i'm dead and rotting in the cheapest urn sold at a dollar store will happen across those posts and be thinking -- I never heard anything like that before, because by then nothing like that will be done, at all!!
3. High Rise -- JG Ballard -- I remember reading a review of this, and it sounds really interesting!! If you can think of a Ballard I might enjoy more, let me know before I start on him, kay!!??
4. Tao teh ching
5. Seneca's Letters on Ethics
6. The Complete Works of Epictetus
7. Marcus Aurelius' Meditations -- these will be in the side line register that has already begun with la Rochefoucauld, the idea is to have a fiction with a non-fiction at the same time, and when I mean non-fiction I mean easy to grasp applicable philosophy.
8. The Journey to the West -- the 4 volume version I was reading from earlier, I will give it the proper treatment, as soon as right after Musil.
9. Saint Genet -- Jean-Paul Sartre -- I am terribly interested in the fatalism involved with contemplating Genet, whose book Querelle was what the last Fassbinder film was based on, Sartre goes satisfyingly deep in a psychological way, which reads much more easy than his Being and Nothingness, oh the time I wasted when younger trying to read that!!
10. Malina -- Ingeborg Bachmann -- the book the Schroeter film of same name was based on, she is similar to ...
Clarice Lispector, I want to read these from her
11. The Passion According to G.H.
12. The Hour of the Star
13. Água Viva
Rikki Ducornet's Elements tetralogy -- she is just the latest I found out about through Leaf by Leaf, authors like this are what I mean by the best in regards to modern authors
14. The Stain
15. Entering Fire
16. The Fountains of Neptune
17. The Jade Cabinet
18. Marcel Proust's In Search of Lost Time
19. as much of Nietzsche as possible preferably the Free Spirit series
20. and all of Ciorans French books, oh yeah I compressed this list at the end because numbering isn't all so important it's just an organizational method.
