I just finished reading The Island by Peter Benchley (Author of Jaws)

I read it on a train trip to Cairo, It was a quick burn, decent book, yet i feel like the author added lots of unnecessary characters and chapters that served nothing but to distract the author from the main topic of the novel.
also, why would a man take his kid to an island where people disappear and tell him to go fishing with him?
over all, 6/10.
i'm interested in knowing your thoughts on the book.. and also the movie.

The movie was kind of a well done stream of consciousness. I enjoyed it. Perhaps that was what the author intended, buy couldn't quite get there.
