I got a new book tonight that I’m going to start reading soon.

Behind the Walls of St. John's: A Story of Catholic Abuse By Arlene Krieger.

4meAndyou · F
I have just finished binge reading ALL the books by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. I am on the last in the Gideon Crew series...The Pharaoh Key. I think I may have read it before and just forgot. After this, I have The Codex by Douglas Prestong. THEN I am going to re-read some books by Georgette Heyer.
4meAndyou · F
@Musicman I liked it. It's one of the shortest Douglas Preston series.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@4meAndyou Is he going to continue the series? Have you read them all?
4meAndyou · F
@Musicman This is the last one of the Gideon Crew series. His largest and longest series is the Pendergast series...and he will have "Pendergast, The Beginning", published sometime in 2026.
In my rare free but focused time I have been working my way through Les Misérables in the original French (not my native language) for over 2 years now. It's great :)

I haven't had any time to read anything but these recently

The most recent thing I was reading for enjoyment was this:

@SomeIrishPerson I’ve read like four different books about the fall. Yea not much changes.
SomeIrishPerson · 31-35, M
@SpectralMourning
I've read quite a lot about Roman history but not so much about their fall. Most of my reading has centered around the events leading towards the fall of the Republic, through to the first 15 or so Emperors.
Alyosha · 36-40, M
On Evil by Thomas Aquinas, Remarks on Color by Ludwig Wittgenstein, The Metaphysics of Morals by Immanuel Kant, Female Serial Killers by Peter Vronsky, and a couple others. I like to have multiple books going at once.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
@Alyosha I think my brain would explode reading all of those authors at once.
RockVolleyGirl · 18-21, F
I started reading a book I have read 3 times already. 🤷‍♀
The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub
RockVolleyGirl · 18-21, F
@SpectralMourning They made a movie about it. 1981
SpectralMourning · 41-45, M
@RockVolleyGirl Nice I will check that out as well, thank you.
RockVolleyGirl · 18-21, F
@SpectralMourning Movie was freaky. I'm getting goosebumps thinking about it

@SW-User Just checked out a small synopsis and it does sound like something I'd enjoy. Will have to put it on my list.

@Musicman Nice, enjoy. Ever watch the movie? Just curious what you thought about it. I'm guessing the books are better.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SpectralMourning Oh yes! There is a whole series of books. I have them all. The movie was good. The book was just a little better. I definitely enjoy the movie though too. 🙂
