Bookish inspiration
I'm sorry folks I might be posting more regularly, to get things off my chest, the catharsis that offers is just like a food court in the middle of a desert.
So here I want to share a couple videos I was impressed with by two eminent booktubers on the reading life, because that's life period for me in an ideal sense.
Lady of the Library destroys gatekeeping ... the teacher she describes must be one of the most annoying people ever to have walked the earth.
[media=https://youtu.be/kUtCPveGnJ0]
Willow Talks Books covers 2 arguments about challenging literature, and light literature, both are good arguments
[media=https://youtu.be/IBamhNM8mRI]
Unlike most people though, I need a grand mix of literature, the high and the low and everything in-between, each part making each other necessary. Like The Book Centipede, less gross than the human version.
Well I hope these 2 videos inspire some here to approach reading in a more dynamic way, reading is one of our last defenses from the insidious forces that are seeping through the nooks and crannies of our psyche, trying to make us indoctrinated and unthinking, just going along with things, like the Nurenberg trial Nazis, just following orders kinds of people, books that are challenging, that require effort, and giving other kinds of books a scrutiny unusual for them can help us be better resistant to the toxins not of the air, but of the mind.
