Hoarding books

I have been hoarding books for a while. Not to the no space to walk through the room proportions. They are all on shelves and in the cupboard 's but I do have a couple of boxes on my floor and a few other things. They are beginning to drive me nuts!!. I've decided to start reading and decluttering the ones that aren't my favourite. So that I can make room in the cupboard for the boxes of stuff. Plus I have so many other things I can use up or declutter. I realise the biggest thing is to stop bringing more books into my home. Thats the hardest part!

I have told the story of my wife often enough not to repeat it..Now she is in care I am (with the help of family) slowly decluttering the house and making it into a place I can live alone in..Getting rid of some of her stuff (she loved buying shoes she never wore) and some other items was easy enough to goodwill. But no one will take the metric tonne of "historical fiction" she had stashes under beds, in wardrobes, bags, corners , even some on bookshelves. I cant get rid of them to anyone. So I am dumping a couple of bags in my garbage (and sneaking another couple into my neighbours after dark) I should be done by Christmas.. 😷
