Which do you do more

If I listen to audio books and pause to think about something I get lost. I'm going blind and can't read real books anymore but I can still read ebooks.

I haven't done much of either in a pretty long time. Just started re-reading I'll Be Gone In The Dark this afternoon though. 🤔
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@thepeculiarpanda nice. How is it? Looks suspenseful
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
@caPnAhab It's a good book! Unfortunately, the author ended up passing away before she could finish it so the ending is a bit of whiplash as far as the writing style goes. Definitely a terrifying case though.

I've been mostly audiobooks. I've been into them for a while.
But lately cause I read a lot for my job / use my eyes a lot and I just want to not read anymore in my off-time.

I love reading books. I read a few at a time.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@ScreamingFox haha same. But that's because I always get distracted and start a new before finishing the Iast

Actual books.
Mispronunciation, etc., bothers me.

@caPnAhab I always hated it when other people read in school--they often had no idea of what punctuation meant, and some read the white space of the margins...
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@SomeMichGuy how do you read blank spaces, a pause?
SomeMichGuy · M
@caPnAhab Yes.
Take a book, read a physical line of print, stop at the physical end for a few seconds, read another physical line, stop again, etc.
You are now "reading" the whitespace. Anyone listening can reconstruct how the page was typeset. So you are conveying not only the intended information, but formatting information only part of the specific presentation.
And it's annoying af. lol

I usually prefer reading actual physical books but I have a collection of audio books too.

PDF's more than either one of those.
They are free most times.

I actually never tried audiobooks. So only reading.
read much more, but audiobooks are handy when driving or doing other things.
Achelois · F
Reading books, I’ve only listened to one audiobook while driving.
