Dostoyevksy never ceases to astonish me with his gripping narrative and wit
What a man he was!

I haven't read much of it. I liked Crime and Punishment, Roadside Picnic by Strugatsky brothers, The Pit by Kuprin and two books by Iľf and Petrov

I didn't like The Captain's Daughter by Pushkin. We had to read it in school and I found it hard to follow with names always changing.
