Favourite childhood book?

Me, Enid Blighton, the far away tree, very dark really as all of my childhood stories were, scary stuff some of them

I wasn't much for books as a child. They were usually about middle-class kids having a 'joy good time', which I just couldn't relate to. I did enjoy Aesops fables, they made you think a bit.

Very true most of my childhood stories were about having Jolly good japes..growing up in a mining village couldn't relate, it's just The magic far away tree was very otherworldly to me, a huge escape, no ginger beer etc there
