2 books finished 2 more on the go
I have completed reading the 2 books by the late Farley Mowat and took them to a book exchange
so they could be enjoyed by someone else now I have two more I am simultaneously reading.
On is about late Canadian musician Gordon Lightfoot that was actually written about him back in the
late 80s and it deals a lot about his struggles in the 60s especially about making it big in the USA.
Bob Dylan is mention in the book as are Chuck and Joni Mitchell as he stayed at Mitchel's Detroit
apartment while playing at coffee shops there in the late 60s. Joni Mitchell is the singer /song writer
Big Yellow Taxi. Before Gordon was a solo artist he was half of a dual with a fellow named Terry Whelan
they called themselves the Two Tones and produced a record together in the early 60s but it did not
sell well. When Gordon recorder his first record alone in a NYC studio in November 64 it took over
a year before it was available in stores mostly cause United Artist were not sure they wanted to produce
and distribute as it meant a huge investment and they were not sure they would recover their expense
as at the time Gordon was still a virtual unknown. I have covered Gordon LightFoot's song Sundown on
youtube and a couple times at an open mike I might cover it again. Oh and I am more than half way through
that book. The other book I am reading is a true crime about a cold blood murder that happened in Austin Texas in July 2004. After reading 136 pages I have 200 more to go but I know who killed Jimmy Joste: Rhonda Glover. Jimmy apparently and loads of money he bought Rhonda cars, a boat even houses
in return she shot him 16 times with a 9 mm hand gun that held 10 round magazines it was not as she claimed
self defense but cold blood murder. She was also as I can tell from what I read so far to be full of crap so full of it that her eyes can only be brown. What I don't know yet is whether she ended up in prison or a hospital
for the mentally ill which are in fact prisons by another name.
