worried about reading old paperbacks in case pages fall out

i have quite a lot of old 2nd hand paperback books which i bought online, but i'm scared to read any of the books in case pages might fall out...would i need to be careful how i read them and open the books, so pages don't fall out?

anyone else have experience with reading old paperback books?
