Am I the only who thinks this here?

In Orwell's 1984 I think 'airstrip one' isn't part of anything bigger, I just think in the book the UK has become a hermit country and fakes footage about wars and rule in other places.

The rest of the world just carries on as usual.

What are your thoughts on my theory?

Best opening ever in a book: "It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen"

Wrong on the UK faking footage on wars.

Wrong on the best opening line as well, it's from Travels by Michael Crichten

"It's not easy to cut through a human head with a hacksaw".
