Have you ever read a book that feels like it's more than it pretends to be at first read? I have this strange relationship with The General's Daughter. I read it and re-read it. I feel for the woman because I know how it feels like to be mistreated. My Dad's mom didn't like me at all and she voiced plenty of times the same attitude as the general inside the book. Luckily she wasn't my parent, but I do get to understand my dad better each read. We're all the result of our upbringing and childhood experiences, and we need to deal with it as best as possible. Has anyone else read the book, or wants to comment?
