What is a highly recommended book you read and hated?

I’ll start…

For months everyone kept recommending The Never King in all of my reading groups. I finally caved and read it. It was terrible, but that’s my unpopular opinion!

I was never a big fan of reading Shakespeare. I also disliked The Great Gatsby 🤷‍♀️

@Scribbles aw man, I feel the same way about Shakespeare.

The Great Gatsby wasn’t terrible, but I wouldn’t want to read it again.

@Scribbles I've seen every Shakespeare play and I think he's highly overrated. I've read Gatsby many times. I think there are three Great American Novels. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Great Gatsby, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. All three are episodic and don't seem to be going anywhere but great characters and great writing!

@Scribbles Really? I enjoyed Merchant of Venice a lot. But then I like stories with brilliant heroines who save the heroes haha.
