#1 - At the Sign of the Cat and Racket - 1830 - Honore de Balzac

I have just finished the first story of the famed La Comédie humaine a 2nd time, a 2 and a half hour read for me. It reads nicely, most of the details are lost on me however, as i just can't follow storylines like most others do, but it's something to do with love and marriage, like that 80's sitcom with the Bundy's ;)

It is a mighty dream of mine to read this whole series which the great author didn't live to complete, such a massive work it is as it is.

If you can't follow storylines, is it worth spending your time reading it...esp. if you compare it to *that* TV show?

@SomeMichGuy Yes, i get a feel of the time period, and i only mentioned *that show* as i had just said a line from the Sinatra theme song for it.
@SW-User If you are looking for a feel of the period, you could likely do so without starting Balzac's cycle...
